CAIG DeOxit Cleaning Solution Spray

DeoxIT is a fast-acting deoxidizing solution that cleans, lubricates, and improves conductivity on all metal connectors and contacts. Seals and protects all electrical connections. Reduces intermittent failures, arcing, wear, and abrasion. Temperature range: -34° C to 200° C. Use as a general treatment for connectors, contacts, and other metal surfaces. DeoxIT D5, Spray: Provides light 5% coating. Flammable (until solvent evaporates). No ozone-depleting CFCs.

The aerosol can will loose its proellant in a very short time. The company says this normal, but there is nothing on the can to suggest it. Buy the liquid if you need this stuff.

After seeing this product mentioned on some VW forums, I decided to try it on the wiring harness for my VW Golf TDI. Basically, I read that the wire becomes corroded and causes the light to come on in the car. This product did the trick. I sprayed it on, let it dry for five minutes and the light has not come back on. I would HIGHLY recommend this product for cleaning any connections. I am sure that it would work equally well on other electronic devices.

I carry a can with me on Big Screen TV service calls. I have used this product for many years and can tell you it is the best. Don't waste your time with other cleaners, just buy this and remember to follow the instructions, especially wiping off the excess. It doesn't take a lot to do the job so use it sparingly and it will work for you.

This is the best contact cleaner I have ever used. I use it on all types of electronics, even works on some computer cable connections. I highly recommend this product.

I have used CAIG DeOxit contact cleaner for about 10 years and haven't met anything better. It really works and its effect lasts very long! It removes oxidation on silver-plated and other electrical contacts and leaves a thin film of lubrication on them. Be warned when you order this can; even though it is advertised as 10.4 ounces it's only a standard smallish 5 oz. (142g.) can. :(
