I put this multiswitch in 1-1/2 years ago to replace an older multiswitch, when they upgraded my DirecTV dish. It worked okay, but last week I upgraded my TV to a flat screen HDTV, and signed up for the HD channels. I found that this multiswitch would not pass through the HD channels. This was confirmed by talking to technical support at Terk (Audiovox)- it is not compatible with HDTV channels from DirecTV. So I might as well just toss the thing in the trash. When I bought it, it was supposed to be compatible with the DirecTV dish that I have. BTW, Terk (Audiovox) customer service is terrible. I posted my problem online, not sure what the issue was, and Terk responded that I needed to call and talk to them in person. (They could have easily posted the fact that this device does not pass HDTV signals from DirecTV.) I waited on hold for over an hour, all the while listening to messages referring me back to their web site for customer support. What a joke. I'm definitely going to replace this multiswitch with a brand other than Terk.

I purchased the following with my triple-LNB dish, supplied by DirecTv: (08) Terk BDS-P1's, (01) Terk HD-TVS off air HD antenna and (01) Terk BMS-58 switch to make everything work together. I experienced no problems with the installation. DirecTv receivers see all 3 satellites and have the option to receive free HD TV from local towers. The BMS-58 switch works as a combiner routing all signals through 1 coax cable. This makes running cable cheaper. The diplexer then splits the signals at the DirecTv box. I also use this for TIVO with no issues. As some has stated... the unit does run hot. But not so hot that you can not touch it. I built up the mount 1 in. to allow air flow through the rear of the unit. I found that this makes the unit run slightly cooler. I also had to install a DC block on the off-air antenna input in order for DirecTv to receive. The manual does not state that. Trial and error fixed the problem. I'm 1 month and going strong with no issues in 5 locations.

I have been using this item for about 5 months and it works fined. I am a DirecTV HD user and now that they have moved to a new HD scheme the new HD channels do not work. I just got off the phone with DircTV technical support and they said it was because of the multi switch. They are sending someone out to the house to replace.

It is the best indoor antenna I have tried. Picks up digital broadcast that are in range with no problem

I brought this until a couple of years ago and never had any issues at all. I just bought another one because we have 5 DirecTiVo's and each one uses 2 cables. I'm using the units in series and have no issues. Everything is working great! Don't hesitate to purchase this unit!
