Customer Reviews for Olevia 332H 32-Inch LCD HD Ready Monitor

You get what you pay for.

I had my 332H for over a year with no issues when the TV shorted out my laptop via the HDMI port. Was told my customer service to try to update the firmware to resolve the issue. TV USB port shorted out my cable and my desktop shut down to ovoid damage. Level two tech support said that I could pay to have the TV fixed (over half the price of the TV) and my laptop, desktop, cables, and personal injury were not covered. With Olevia, you get what you pay for and even an APC will not help if yours goes bad. Wish I would have never bought this TV, will not do business with Olevia or any affiliate ever again.

LCD flat panel failed

I bought the Olevia LCD because my brother in law recommended it based on price and quality. I liked the picture and ease of use, until the picture went out- black screen. dead, kaput. It worked for about 6 months, and was never moved or mistreated in anyway. Olevia said this was a "unique" case, but when I googled around I found that I sure wasn't the first. They said it would cost $575 to replace the panel b/c I "failed" to purchase an extended warranty. I replaced it alright, replaced it out on the street for garbage pick up. For the record my brother in law's LCD still works, and I'll buy another LCD, but not from Syntax/Olevia. Do your homework, don't trust my brother in law, and get something reliable. If you need further info feel free to respond and I'll provide more details.

Great Monitor

I was worried that this would be a waste of money believing firmly in the you get what you pay for motto. But I guess there are always a few exceptions to the rules, this is a great TV with a crystal clear picture. it was easy to set up both our cable box and the video games. Just remember that it don't have a tuner, for the low tech people that means you need to have a cable box (or VCR) to change channels. Great display for the price.

Mele Kalikimaka..Got a 532 H code

I was able to get the older 532H model, but I wanted the 537H. I was disappointed that Scientific Atlanta HDTV did not have a code for it. Finally sat down today & did the steps they tell u to do to find a code. It came out to be 0500. We have TimeWarnerCable here in Hawaii. Big difference now to be able to turn on/off both units, control the volume, mute, & change channels. Aloha & Mele Kalikimaka.

Great for the price

I've owned this set for a couple months now and can say it is a great bargain at $475. The HD picture is incredible and the picture is bright and crisp. The downsides come from the grey to dark contrast and the remote. When you view dark movies like the Matrix it is really hard to see the contrast but when you see dark contrast in HD it is less noticable. The remote is the biggest problem with the set... I suggest you get another. It lags and you have to press it twice to get it to respond. It was remarkable that such a nice TV couldn't come with a decent remote. For the money I paid it was a steal to other sets on the market. Olivia is a new brand but it makes good TVs.
