IOGEAR's HDMI (F) to DVI (M) Video Adapter allows you to connect an HDMI-enabled device using an HDMI cable to a DVI-enabled device such as a HDTV, PC monitor, AV receiver etc.One end of the adapter is an HDMI female connector and the other end is a DVI-D Dual Link male connector.Simply plug the DVI male connector to a DVI-enabled device, and then connect an HDMI cable which is plugged into an HDMI-enabled device to the HDMI connection on the adapter.

24" imac screen only connection to my 52" LCD Sony Bravia. AWESOME. From imac I attached 1)APPLE M9321G/B mini-dvi to dvi adapter 2) Iogear:hdmi(f) to dvi-d dual link(m) adapter..... (great quality) 3) a 35foot hdmi cl2 rated cable directly to tv This connection allows the imac to either MIRROR its' screen display onto the lcd tv screen OR use the tv screen in addition to (expanding) the imac display. Through a lot of research on my part I gathered the above as a solution & it works as well as I anticipated. WITH THE ABOVE, AUDIO DOES NOT CARRY TO THE TV, SO CONNECT IMAC AUDIO DIRECTLY TO YOUR STEREO OR TV FOR SOUND W/ HEADPHONE JACK OR DIGITAL AUDIO JACK FOUND ON THE BACK PANEL OF IMAC (or rely on the imac internal speakers)
