This was a well needed upgrade from the Sixaxis controller. Unlike some companies, this controller includes a non-removable, rechargeable battery. By the time the battery needs to be replaced, the controller will be well beyond its warranty. You get about 4 hours of play time between recharging. It will take from one to 2 hours to recharge depending how the charge left on the controller.

Sony did a great job on this controller. The charge lasts what seems like forever. Everyone with a PS3 should get at least 4 of these bad boys. Do yourself a favor and go with these over the off brand controllers. These look better and last longer (charge and lifespan).

I luv the new rumble but got so used to the light weight controller. I'm glad I waited for the item to come down in price. All in All its a great addition to the ps3.
