Works Fine (ONLY WORKS ONE WAY!!)
This product does exactly what it should, although it seems to be sloppily put together (some sort of glue is caked all over the insides and around the input/output. It still gets the job done, which is all I can ask for considering the price. WARNING this device only works one way (Takes in TOSLink/Optical and converts it to S/PDIF/Coaxial). They make one just like it that goes in reverse too (although I don't own it).
It just work and it is really small
When I open the package I was thinking "Did the vendor forget the converter?", in first sight all i can see is the ac adapter. End up it is in the package and it is WAY SMALLER than I thought it would be, roughly 7cm x 5cm x 1cm in size. As for the product itself, it just work, convert the optical digital signal from my ps3 to the coaxial port of my amplifier. Easy to use. 5 stars!
Works!
Allows me to connect my Mac mini optical audio out to my digital in on my tv. Very easy to setup and I found no issues.
Does exactly what I hoped it would
I bought this because I wanted to get surround sound from my laptop through my home theater. The only way I could do that was send an HDMI signal from my laptop to my HDTV, then send the sound back to my home theater. But the TV's only output was Toslink, and the home theater's only input was digital coax. After researching, I bought this converter. Plugged it in, and now I can control my PC's sound from the digital input of my home theater. I am very happy.
Works just as advertised
Not a whole lot to say about this item, other than it works exactly as advertised. I needed to hookup my Xbox 360 to an older receiver which was out of optical inputs, and it worked wonderfully. I read another review which said the item got hot...I certainly didn't find this to be the case. After playing Command and Conquer for a couple hours, its was still cool to the touch. The only thing(and this is minor) that I would suggest to improve the product would be some type of status indicator light. Other than hooking everything up, you really don't have any way to know that its working(which of course, is perfectly fine.) […]
