Editorial Reviews for Sony Bravia 46" V-Series LCD TV - SNY-KDL46V3000

Product Description

Immerse yourself in outstanding color reproduction and 1080p picture quality with the KDL-46V3000 LCD Flat Panel HDTV.BRAVIA V-Series televisions are where Full HD 1080 starts. Performance functions like Live Color Creation and the 10-bit panel display assure picture quality, while BRAVIA Theater Sync offers easy one-button operation for enjoying a Sony A/V system. Add a sparkling new black picture frame design, quiet operation, and you have the new BRAVIA V-Series HDTV.When it comes to high-definition TV the pinnacle of performance is achieved by using 1920 x 1080 display panels. And BRAVIA V-Series televisions have them. Full HD 1920 x 1080 panel resolution with over 2 million pixels (more than twice that of 720p HDTV) is exactly what you need to reproduce the 1080p content. And working with BRAVIA Engine EX everything from standard definition and high definition is upconverted to 1080p for a picture so real it's like you're actually there. While it's great to state that a TV is capable of creating billions of colors it's a whole lot better when you have a display that can actually display them. That's the logic behind Sony's 10-bit processor and 10-bit display. Sony follows 10-bit processing with a 10-bit panel, allowing 64 times the levels of color expression than an 8-bit panel. What that translates to is smoother transitions from color to color and subtle color changes faithfully reproduced.

Customer Reviews for Sony Bravia 46" V-Series LCD TV - SNY-KDL46V3000

Poor quality

I gave this TV 1 star because I could not give it zero star. I was deciding between the Mitsubishi LT-46133 and this Sony DKL46V3000. Mitsubishi had much better features, but I decide to buy the Sony because it had slightly better contrast in the dark areas. Big mistake buying this piece of lemon. I bought the unit on 12/22/07, the unit malfunctioned by doing auto shut down on 3/7/08. It has been in the repair shop twice since then and I hope to get it back before the end of May 2008. Sony offered me a replacement refurbished unit, saying the unit is more than 30 days. I refused because I paid for a new TV, not a refurbished unit. When I ask Robert at Customer Relations if this quality is acceptable, his reply is "things happen, and you turned down our offer to exchange it [with a refurbished unit]". Some one at work suggested I take them to Small Claims Court, which Robert replies "that is your peragative". Compare this to my friend's Mitsubishi TV bougt in Nov 2007 and my parent's Samsung TV bought in Dec 2007 which are still working fine.
