Good if it doesn't need service
Picture and price were great. Although at this point I've forgotten what picutre looks like. Bought TV 2/3/2008 Dropped machine off 7/30/2008 for service as it was dead. Still have not gotten machine back from service center. I think they want me to give up on having machine repaired. Customer service is friendly and prompt at answering phone but are very inconsistent in process and rarely delivery on what they promise. I've talked to at 20 of them and still don't have a straight answer as to when I'll get my TV back. I would say the TV is great but good luck getting it fixed if it needs to be repaired.
sylvania 37 inch tv
when i received the order the box was all beat up and one of the strapping were off - so i returned the item and when they picked it up the bottem of the bax was falling out - mind you i never moved the box from the time it was delivered to the time it was picked up - not a good experience
Very nice for the price
I bought this on a whim for $499 on Black Friday. Didn't set out to get one, but happened to be in line when someone else changed his mind. I normally research the heck out of these kinds of purchases but took a chance due to the price. If given a do-over, I wouldn't change a thing. Pros: -Typical LCD TV advantages (lightweight, low power consumption, low heat, no radiation, thin) -Very bright -Nice sound from the built-in speakers -Easy to set up -Internal HD antenna to pick up HD air signals (I used a $20 antenna to watch the bowl games before my HD service was installed) -Great HD display on 1080i -2 HDMI inputs -2 component inputs -S video input -RCA inputs -PC input w/sound -Easy to switch to letterbox feature for non-HD shows (which look bad when blown up to full screen) Cons: -Takes a long time (relatively) to display the picture when you turn it on -Takes a long time to cycle through the input devices--you have to go through all of them even if they aren't active -For some reason, wide shots sometimes look a little fuzzy during sporting events, though this could be caused by my cable provider -I could not find the proper code to program my remote, but my cable company sent me a 'learning' remote that allowed me to manually set each function. This could be a pain if you don't have that option Summary: If you can get a deal on this TV, then it should satisfy you. It's hard to beat for the money. Not all HD channels are equal, so it will take some time to figure them out (I'm still learning). Once you do, the difference is stunning. The resolution is such that it exposes the flaws of non-HD channels, so be prepared to change the settings for those. Also, I would recommend using component inputs or an HDMI input for DVD's or you are going to have a noticeable decrease in picture quality. Be prepared to deal with the hassle of finding a proper code for your remote if you want to consolidate remote controls.
Best TV for the Price
I found this TV at a KMart on clearence for $510, great buy I must say, goregous picture as soon as it warms up (takes a minute or two, a little longer when its fresh out of the box) features are great and the price I paid was unbeatable. Highly recommend, only problem I have had is the universal remote that came with my cable box cannot find a code to use with it.
SYLVANIA LC370SS8
This is one of the best LCD HDTVs out there. I have never seen a more clear picture. And the price is well worth it. Gaming is great with this and my XBOX 360. Get it while it's still here.
