Amazon.com Product Description
Keep the music playing with Pioneer's PD-F407 25-disc CD player. The slot-loading changer helps you organize and get creative about how you listen. In addition to its standard features (play, repeat, 32-track programming), the PD-F407 has a few that are more unusual--and perfect for a CD jukebox. "Best play" is a one-touch trick that lets you commit any 15 tracks to the PD-F407's memory. Just hit the BEST button while a track is playing and the player will automatically store that track in memory. Later, on hitting "best play," the unit will play back all 15 tracks in sequence. Another cool feature is "previous-disc scan," which simply plays the opening ten seconds of the last 15 discs played. The PD-F407 also lets you create up to 3 custom files, or groups, with no limit to the number of CDs in each file. This is a terrific way to file discs by genre or by favorite artist. When you hit play after having hit stop or turned the unit off, it will begin playing the last disc before shutdown. What's more, your programmed sequences are preserved even when powering down thanks to Pioneer's memory hold feature. Select random playback to let the player choose selections from among all 25 discs, from a single disc, or from a designated "custom" file. A "Hi-Lite" button plays a 10-second portion of the first track on each disc. There are also many variations on all of these programmable features, depending upon what mode you are using at the time.
Pioneer PD-F407 25-Disc CD-File Changer
Very nice cd changer for the money. The only drawback I can see is no remote control comes with the unit. So far, it has worked flawlessly.
Pioneer PD-F407, 25 Disc CD Player
I have used one of these players for several years, and supposed they were out of production. Happily, I found one at Vann's Electronics, and purchased it for my son. It has no remote feature, but that doesn't detract from the smooth operation of the player. It's a keeper....great product.
Plays everything perfectly, works great!
I`ve had my Pioneer, cd player for several months now and it works great. I didn`t know it didn`t come without a remote and I miss that. And if it`s located in a dark space you`ll need extra light to see the controls. But it does play everything I`ve put in there so far with no complaints. Nothing skips. Random play is excellent. I do wish the lettering for the controls was a bit larger and easier to see. Again, better lighting on the controls would help. I`m looking to buy another as a gift. I have learned that they don`t care if it`s got a remote or not. I`m sold! I`m giving it 5 stars because it works perfectly, every single time! So, if you want a cd player that just plain works and doesn`t cost much, how can you go wrong? You can`t..........
Very good, no problems
This unit was purchased for my employer, who does pro-sound installations. The customer wanted a multi-disk CD player, which is not generally available in professional grade, so we went to this unit. We only tested it briefly before it went to our customer, but it met our expectations. The CD tray is a bit awkward -- it is large and takes up a big footprint when opened. But overall, seems like a good piece of equipment for the price, and I don't have any hesitations recommending it.
Screen says "No Disc"
I bought this in Nov. 2007 and thoroughly enjoyed its continuous play of Christmas music in Dec. However, when I changed to my other CDs the problems began. The main problem is that even though it sounds like the CD is going back to the play position, I get a message saying "No Disc" and I hear an awful ratchety type sound. Since I had it more than a month, the Co. I bought it from wouldn't take it back and I had to take it to one of only two Pioneer repair centers in our state. The closest is an hour away. When I took it in, the repairman said he's seen a lot come in with the same problem. I hope Pioneer can take care of this problem!! I may not have mine back for three weeks. I'm hoping it will work fine after that!
