It doesn't really mention it on this page, but it clearly states on the packaging and in the manual that this will not automatically switch sources. You need to press a button on the unit or the remote.

the prices is good, the quality of the product is good, it has a very friendly interface. But, there is a problem given the power is taken from the HDMI source, when I try to run my digital set-top box alone it doesn't work. this is solved when I power on my PS3, but that is not the idea. I don't know if this is solved if we plug the dc power (not supplied). But if it is a must maybe included in the original package.

I purchased this product because my Yamaha V663 receiver is limited to two HDMI connection and output to the TV . I want my philips dvd, bluray and ps3 to connect directly to my receiver. I tried using the Monoprice Brand with 4 port hdmi and nothing works. I called monoprice support and told that I need to purchase different gauge of hdmi. I have three 1.5 ft hdmi and one 3ft hdmi. I think that should not be a problem. Finally, I purchase this Iogear product. WOW, what a wonder no problem at all , no problem on the video and audio, no problem on the switch where you can see a green blinking when it switch, easily configure to my logitech 880 remote. This is perfect I am so happy now.

Only had two slots on my plasma, needed to plug in dual-tuner DVR, blu-ray player, and Roku HD video player. Super easy set-up; no a/c required, cute little remote, can be manually switched on the unit itself. Great price and quality. Perfect 10. One note: it is light as a feather so unless you anchor it down, it ends up wherever the tension in the HDMI cables push it.

This is a great HDMI switch.I mainly use it to connect my PC through a VGA to HDMI converter and still give great picture and sound through my HDTV from PC.I connected my Verizon fios receiver and it also create true hdmi picture and sound with no disturbances.Best thing is that I don't have to even use a power adapter.It Is basically a plug it and go device.The remote comes with the device is great and I can switch between my pc and verizon receiver with ease.I think for xbox and ps3 you have to get a power adapter as the game systems draw too much power.You can get one of those from ebay for may be $5.It has 3 hdmi port so I can connect my pc,cable receiver and xbox.If you want to connect a DVD player just buy a hdmi splitter or you should check for a 4 port hdmi switch.But that is not necessary as I play my DVD through my pc or xbox.
